Speech Technology Research Engineers

Toshiba Research Europe Ltd, Cambridge Research Lab (CRL) are looking for several research engineers for its Speech Technology R&D group. The successful candidates will contribute to the design and implementation of text-to-speech synthesis (TTS) and/or automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. They will be expected to make significant individual contributions through applying novel solutions to speech technology problems and/or implementation of product-ready code.

Required:

• PhD in a relevant subject or equivalent industry experience
• Working knowledge of pattern processing and statistical techniques
• Good software skills in C and Perl/Python on Linux
• Commitment to working in a team
• Good English and communication skills

Any of the following are welcomed:

• Track record of international publications
• Good knowledge of speech and/or signal processing
• Industrial software engineering experience
• Experience of working on embedded software products
• Experience of supervising technical work of others
• Knowledge of more than one major European language
• Experience of designing speech applications/dialog systems
