Cambridge Research Laboratory, Computer Vision Group
The Computer Vision Group was founded in April 2006. We are creating core Computer Vision technology while carrying out basic research in this area in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and the Toshiba Corporate R&D Center in Japan.
Our research interest lies in shape modelling from images and video. We aim to build accurate three-dimensional models of objects, allowing visualisation in different virtual scenes or manufacturing actual copies. You can read more here about the work of Dr. Carlos Hernandez and Dr. George Vogiatzis.
A further research topic is the tracking of articulated motion, for example of a human body or a hand. This technology can be applied to areas such as motion transfer or gesture-based computer interfaces. For more information, see the work of Dr. Bjorn Stenger.
