Toshiba's Corporate R&D Center is based in the city of Kawasaki, Japan's prosperous 'Silicon Valley'. Situated on the coast between Tokyo and Yokohama, Kawasaki has a population of 1.2 million and is a mere 20 minutes from Tokyo by train.
