We are absolutely thrilled to be recognized for our work towards raising money for Surrey based schools, charities and hospitals. The “Dress Down Days” are organized by Joy Stockwell and over the past 10 years she has raised 1,000s pounds sterling for needy causes all of which have been nominated by employees. Although “Dress Down Days”, which are held on the last Friday of every month at a cost of one pound sterling per person, are a smaller scale way of supporting the local community, they make a huge impact to those that receive the money. TIU was the recipient of one of the 3rd Toshiba "ASHITA" awards.

TPO Charity Fund (UK)

Toshiba Information Systems (UK) Ltd.'s manufacturing plant ("TPO") is based in Plymouth in the UK and employs 290 staff, producing LCD TVs for the European market. All TPO staff participate in various fund-raising activities throughout the year. Examples include raffles, parties, and quizzes. The money which is raised from these activities is paid into the TPO Charity Fund, and donated to local charities and other good causes. Over the last year, some fifty local good causes have benefited from the TPO Charity Fund including schools, hospitals, children's sports groups, disabled groups, and animal charities. The total raised and distributed is in excess of £3,000. As well as this cash payment, Toshiba also contributed 14 Toshiba TVs.

TPO was the recipient of one of the Toshiba "ASHITA" awards. This award was created in 2005 to revitalise Toshiba Group's corporate citizenship activities. More information on the Toshiba "ASHITA" award
