IFA 2007
IFA, the world’s leading sales platform for Consumer Electronics, this year took place from 31st of August to 5th September 2007 in the German capital city.
As every year, Toshiba participated at this year's world’s largest Consumer Electronics
trade fair and prepared again an environmental booth whose top items were Toshiba’s Environmental Policy and its environmental friendly products.
Using "Factor T", Toshiba explained its environmental approach.
The application of "Factor T" was demonstrated through 3 of the latest Toshiba products:
- Notebook PC Portégé R 500
- HD DVD Player "HD-EP 30"
- Widescreen LCD TV "32C3030D"
12th Toshiba Corporate European Environment Meeting

The 12th Toshiba Corporate European Environment Meeting was held on 23rd of May 2007 in Neuss (Germany). Headquarters explained Toshiba's Environmental Policy and the action items in Europe this year. We shared environment related action results in Europe through each European business Group Report. 7 persons from Japan HQ and 19 persons from Toshiba European Subsidiaries attended the meeting.


CEBIT 2007
Like each spring, CEBIT, the annual trade show for information and telecommunications technology, was held this year again on the fairground in Hannover showing the world's latest news in terms of information technology. Toshiba was represented at the CEBIT expo 2007 which was held from 15th to 21st of March. Among the latest innovations, Toshiba prepared an environmental corner to disclose Toshiba's Environment Policy.
Environmental information exchange between Europe and the United States inside Toshiba Group
Toshiba's Environmental responsible group of United States visited Toshiba's Environmental group of Europe in Germany from 7th to 8th December 2006 for the exchange of current information on the environmental situation in Europe and in US. The European experience shows how Toshiba companies in the US and South America may prepare for new environmental laws.
The visit of Toshiba Regensburg Operations on 7th December 2006 provided a general overview on the actual 'Take Back' situation in Germany. Main topics in the meeting, held the following day at Toshiba Europe GmbH in Neuss, were environmental trends and activities in the US as well as European environmental laws that may affect the US and the South American market. Both parties had a successful meeting that will be held periodically.
11th Toshiba Corporate European Environment Meeting

On 18th October 2006 the 11th Toshiba Corporate European Environment Meeting in Neuss, Germany was held.
Toshiba started this regional Environment Meeting in Europe in 2003, and shares information regarding new European Environmental Law, Regulations movement, and discusses our action plan for them.
This time we focussed on WEEE and RoHS issues. Among the members were 6 persons from Toshiba's Headquarters in Japan and 25 members from European Subsidiaries for PC, TV/ DVD, Imaging Products, Retail Information products and Mobile.

IFA 2006
This year again Toshiba participated at IFA, the world's largest Consumer Electronics trade fair in Berlin.
IFA 2006 (Internationale Funkausstellung) took place from 1st to 6th of September 2006, where Toshiba prepared an environmental booth to disclose Toshiba Environment Policy and its target by using Factor T. Toshiba's environmental activities have been explained as follows:
- The Globe illustrating Toshiba's policy, which is the contribution to a sustainable development on Earth: Following customer's needs in symbiosis with Earth.
- To realize its Policy, Toshiba has introduced an eco-efficiency concept: This is a measurement tool to check the product and the performance for the product development.
- Factor T: Toshiba set a target for 2010 for the eco-efficiency and introduced Factor T. Factor T is a term used for indicating the degree of improvement of eco-efficiency. We set our target clearly in vision 2010 to improve product eco-efficiency 2.2 times by fiscal year 2010 compared to fiscal year 2000.
