How Bluetooth™ was born

In 1998, a group called the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) was formed, composed of world leaders in the telecommunications, computing and network industries, including Toshiba. Today there are more than 2000 member companies from diverse sectors of industry supporting this innovative technology.

Aims of Bluetooth™ SIG Group

Aim was to develop a technology that would revolutionise the personal connectivity and communication market by providing freedom from wired connections.
