When the time comes to purchase your new PC there are number of things to remember. We have created this short checklist to help you remember some of the most important things. Print it off and take it with you when you visit your chosen reseller — take your time, ask lots of questions, and make sure that you are comfortable with your choice before finalising the sale. Getting the PC that is your "perfect match" is worth the effort!
Before you purchase, a "to-do" list:
  • Have you defined your PC needs?
  • Have you defined your budget?
  • Have you arranged for a friend or family member who knows about PCs to accompany you to the reseller?
  • Have you compiled a list of resellers that you will visit to get competitive quotes?
Before you purchase, a "to-know" list:
  • Remember that it is more important to have a balanced configuration than it is to have a few powerful components.
  • If you choose Windows ME®, remember that 64 MB is the minimum configuration needed.
  • Always ask for warranty details (both national and international).
  • Do not hesitate to go to several resellers to compare prices, service, and bundled options.
  • Always ask for complete details about bundled software.
  • If you choose to buy on-line do not forget to include freight in your price calculations.
